Plazac and Surroundings

Plazac is the perfect centre for trips to the famous castles along the Dordogne and Vézère rivers; the caves of Lascaux; Les Eyzies (the prehistoric capital of the world); the picturesque, medieval city of Sarlat with it's Saturday market; Gallo-Roman Perigueux with it's beautiful squares, museums and shops; La Roque Saint Christophe; Beynac; le chateau Des Milandes (former residence of Josephine Baker) and many, many other sites of interest.

All this within a 35 km range of "LES TILLEULS".

The village itself has a baker shop, a biologic supermarket, post office and a pub, called La Marjolaine, with nice cold beer and good coffee.

The Dordogne has many cultural and musical festivals, particularly in the summer, when you can enjoy local, national and international artistes. Brocante, or Bric-a-Brac, fairs are held in many of the villages around and it is fun to bargain for anything from junk to antiques.
